Toby Imada is a lightweight mixed martial artist currently fighting for Bellator in their Season Two lightweight tournament, the second tournament he has entered with the promotion. He lost to Pat Curran in the tournament finals in an extremely controversial fight. Some called it the biggest robbery thus far in 2010.
Toby next faced Ludwing Salazar outside of Bellator, defeating him via second-round armbar submission. He next returned to Bellator for the fourth season lightweight tournament. He was set to face Ferrid Kheder in the quarterfinals. Kheder refused to weigh in at the official weigh-in ceremony the night prior to the fight. He was replaced by Josh Shockley. Imada defeated Shockley via first-round armbar submission.
He next faced Patricky Freire in the semifinals. Freire knocked Imada out in the first round with a flying knee.
Imada next made his RFA debut in a rematch against James Krause. Krause cruised to a unanimous decision win.
