Tatsuya Mizuno

Tatsuya Mizuno is a mixed martial artist.

He most recently faced feared kickboxing striker Melvin Manhoef in the first round of Dream's four-man light-heavyweight grand prix. After an exciting back-and-forth boxing and jiu jitsu contest, Mizuno managed to pin down a winded Manhoef to secure a kimura, earning the upset victory.

Mizuno advanced to face former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion and fellow finalist Gegard Mousasi in a fight to crown the first-ever Dream light-heavyweight champion. Mizuno was defeated by Mousasi via rear-naked choke six minutes into the first round.

Mizuno was next set to face kickboxer Jerome Le Banner at the year-end Dynamite show. Instead, he faced Sergei Kharitonov. Kharitonov brutally knocked Mizuno out in the first round via a knee.

After recovering, Mizuno returned to fight in Dream against Strikeforce veteran and Dream newcomer Trevor Prangley. He defeated Prangley via a first-round TKO. The victory was a considerable upset. UFC middleweight contender Yushin Okami was present in Japan as one of Mizuno's cornermen.

Mizuno next made his Pro-Elite debut against Ilima Maiava in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mizuno defeated Maiava via second round arm triangle choke submission.

Mizuno then made his ONE FC debut against UFC/Strikeforce veteran and fellow newcomer Renato Sobral, losing very quickly via armbar submission.
