The fight was the light-heavyweight final for the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show.

The first round began. Bader landed a leg kick. Vinny landed a body kick. Bader landed an inside leg kick. They were exchanging probing strikes with Bader mainly attempting counters. Magalhaes seemed jumpy, as if expecting a takedown. Bader landed a nice leg kick. Vinny landed a good body kick. Bader landed a good combo. Bader ran into a jumping knee to the body. They both landed body kicks at the same time and apparently Vinny's was harder because Bader lost balance but got back up quickly. Vinny pursued him but landed nothing. Bader landed a good body kick again. Vinny landed a body kick, more like a foot into the armpit. Bader landed a body kick. Bader landed a big right hand out of nowhere, a BIG one, and dropped Vinny hard for the knockout victory.
