The fight was Ricco Rodriguez's Shark Fights debut. Doug Williams was a late replacement.

The first round began and they touched gloves. Wlliams stuffed a single landing a right hand. Ricco landed an inside kick and missed a high kick. He got a single to guard nicely. Four thirty-five. Ricco passed easily to half-guard. Ricco kneed the body and landed three right hands. Four fifteen as Ricco passed to side control against the cage there. Ricco kneed the body. Four minutes. Ricco worked an arm choke from the top there. He mounted with it. Williams was bucking. Three thirty-five. Ricco had it tight. He went for an armbar. Williams escaped, Ricco kept mount nicely. Three fifteen. Three minutes as Ricco landed a nice right elbow. Williams gave up the back. Ricco had the choke. He had it tight. Williams tapped. Williams was bleeding from that right elbow near the end.
