Stapleton next made his Bellator debut against prospect Saad Awad in the quarterfinals of the Bellator season nine lightweight tournament. Awad defeated Stapleton via a first round rear-naked choke submission.
Stapleton wasted little time in signing to next fight Derek Campos.
