The fight was a known work, with Nobuhiko Takada being a well-known pro wrestler. The fight was also Mark Coleman's dubious Pride debut.
The Fight[]
The first round began. They circled. Coleman pressed forward and they clinched. The referee was all up in there for some reason. He was overhooking the ropes, Takada was. They broke. They gave Takada a yellow card. They continued touching gloves. Takada kept feinting the kicks. Coleman shot for the double and got it hard to half-guard. Takada regained guard as Coleman used the crossface. Coleman landed an iffy right hand. Coleman landed a trio of body shots. Coleman landed another body shot. Coleman worked for a neck crank. Takada landed a leg kick and Coleman got a double to side control. Takada "regained" guard there. Takada landed a right hand from the bottom. Coleman just sort of squatting over Takada hitting his thigh. Takada grabbed a heelhook. Takada cranked it. Coleman held his hand out dramatically and then tapped out.
