Marcus Aurelio is a lightweight and welterweight fighter who has had several short stints in the UFC and in Pride.

Aurelio most recently announced to be entering a $50,000 one night lightweight 'grand prix' in the Shine Fights promotion, on September 10. Afterwards, on September 25, Aurelio is now set to face Dream lightweight champion Shinya Aoki in a non-title bout. Aurelio pulled out of the Shine tournament in favor of the Aoki matchup. He was replaced by fellow UFC cast-out Shannon Gugerty. Due to contact issues between Marcus Aurelio and Shine Fights, the Aurelio and Shinya Aoki fight in currently in jeopardy.

Aurelio cited an elbow injury in his reasons for pulling out of the Shine tourney, and he expressed his hopes and "crossed fingers" that the injury wouldn't keep him from fighting Aoki in his Dream debut. Aurelio faced Aoki, and lost via decision.

Aurelio returned to action against Matt McGrath, defeating him via armbar submission. He next faced Jose Cornejo, winning via spectacular flying switch kick knockout in less than a minute.

Aurelio next faced Richard Jordoin, defeating him via technical knockout in twenty-five seconds.

Aurelio then faced Matt Dwyer, winning via technical knockout due to a slam in thirty seconds. Aurelio next made his ShoFIGHT debut against Strikeforce veteran Lyle Beerbohm, losing a dominant unanimous decision to Beerbohm.
