Luigi Fioravanti

Luigi Fioravanti is a fighter perhaps best known for his lengthy stint in the UFC, fighting first as a middleweight and then as a welterweight fighter, cut after suffering a loss to Anthony Johnson after a lackluster performance against Brodie Farber. He went on to have varied success in smaller shows.

Luigi most recently lost by knockout to veteran Pete Spratt and then by rear-naked choke to John Kolosci in forty-two seconds after being dropped with a big right hand off the bat.

Fioravanti then made a comeback, setting up a solid two-fight win streak in the M-1 Global promotion with victories over Woody Weatherby by first round technical knockout and Arthur Guseinov via fourth-round rear-naked choke submission. Fioravanti next defeated Mitch Whitesel via second-round submission. He next faced Mike Geurin, winning via unanimous decision for his fifth straight victory. He had gone 8-3 since being released from the UFC in early 2009.

Luigi next faced veteran Andrei Semenov in M-1. Semenov defeated Fioravanti via unanimous decision. Fioravanti next clashed with another veteran, Joe Doerksen. Doerksen defeated Fioravanti via unanimous decision. Fioravanti was now on a two-fight losing streak.

He next signed on to face fellow UFC veteran Paul Daley. Daley defeated Fioravanti via dominant unanimous decision, handing Fioravanti his third consecutive decision defeat.
