Josh 'The Dentist' Neer is the former Shark Fights welterweight champion. He has also fought at welterweight and at lightweight inside the UFC.

He most recently lost to Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in what was billed as a 'non-title superfight'. Alvarez choked Neer unconscious in the second round. Neer rebounded with a guillotine choke victory over Jesse Finney, the first loss in Finney's career.

He most recently defeated Andre Case via a twenty-second knockout. He next defended his Shark Fights welterweight title against Jesse Juarez, defeating Juarez via TKO (injury) between the first and second rounds. He next faced Blas Avena, winning via brutal first round technical knockout.

Neer next resigned with the UFC as many -- including myself -- predicted. He next made his well-deserved return to the Octagon against fellow returnee Keith Wisniewski. The fight was a very bloody and bizarre affair, with Neer showing his Muay Thai prowess with a murderous barrage of standing elbows. The doctor was ultimately forced to call a stop to the fight between the second and third rounds.

Neer next fought fellow striker Duane Ludwig in the UFC's first show on FX in Nashville, Tennessee. Neer absorbed everything the dangerous Ludwig could throw at him before choking Ludwig unconscious in the very first round with an impressive guillotine choke submission.

Neer was humble in victory and he next signed to face well-rounded veteran Mike Pyle. After outstriking Pyle on the feet for most of the first round, Neer was knocked unconscious by Pyle with four seconds left.

After the loss, Neer faced prospect Justin Edwards and he was choked unconscious with a guillotine in only forty-five seconds.

Neer next signed to welcome middleweight slugger Court McGee to the welterweight division. McGee defeated Neer via a war of a unanimous decision. Neer was cut from the UFC after the third straight loss.
