John Moraga is a flyweight prospect competing in the UFC's flyweight division.

Moraga most recently made his UFC debut against current Tachi Palace Fights bantamweight champion and UFC flyweight newcomer Ulysses Gomez, who was a late replacement for UFC flyweight contender Ian McCall. Moraga knocked Gomez out near the end of the first round with a brutal flurry of elbows and punches, making many doubters of the flyweight division sit up and take notice.

Moraga next fought Chris Cariaso defeating Cariaso via third round standing guillotine choke to earn Submission of the Night honors. The victory also earned Moraga a title shot, something that surprised many fans inluding this particular one typing these words.

Moraga next signed to fight UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in the spring of 2013. Unfortunately Johnson was injured and the fight was scrapped. It was soon rescheduled for July 2013. Johnson dominated Moraga en route to a fifth round armbar submission.

Moraga was next set to fight Darren Uyenoyama but he was unfortunately injured in late November 2013. Moraga was immediately replaced by newcomer Alp Ozkilic.

After recovering Moraga fought Dustin Ortiz winning a relatively close split decision.

He next signed to fight John Dodson, a rematch of an October 2010 bout outside of the UFC which Dodson had won by unanimous decision in the Dominican Republic. Dodson defeated Moraga via doctor stoppage between the second and third rounds after breaking Moraga's nose with a knee near the end of the second round.

Moraga next fought prospect Justin Scoggins defeating Scoggins via guillotine choke submission forty-seven seconds into the second round.

Moraga then signed to fight fellow contender Jussier Formiga.
