Jared Hess is a mixed martial artist who fought in the first season Bellator middleweight tournament, losing a fight for the vacant title against Hector Lombard.
He was most recently set to participate in the second season middleweight tournament. He won his quarterfinal matchup but lost in the semifinals to Alexander Shlemenko due to a dislocated knee in the third round.
He returned from the gruesome injury at a catchweight against Chris Bell. He won via impressive first round triangle choke submission. He next faced second season finalist Bryan Baker in the quarterfinals of the fifth season tournament. The fight was excellent, ending with Baker scoring a third round TKO victory over a tough Hess.
Hess didn't wait long to get back in the cage. He signed to face exciting prospect Brett Cooper. Cooper defeated Hess via unanimous decision.
