Gian Villante is a retired fighter who formerly fought at light-heavyweight for Strikeforce, and at light-heavyweight (and heavyweight) fighter for the UFC.
Villante next made his UFC debut against fellow Strikeforce veteran and prospect Ovince St. Preux. After a bizarre and boring fight, St. Preux earned the controversial technical decision victory after an eyepoke delivered to Villante unfortunately.
Villante next fought Cody Donovan defeating Donovan via a second round technical knockout.
Villante next signed to fight Fabio Maldonado. After dominating the first round Villante gassed and was in turn dominated for the final two rounds to lose a unanimous decision to Maldonado.
Villante next signed to fight veteran Anthony Perosh. Perosh was unfortunately injured and replaced by Sean O'Connell, who Villante defeated via split decision in a FOTN winning battle.
Villante next fought Corey Anderson, handing Anderson his first loss via knockout.
He then faced Tom Lawlor, dominating the first round before suffering a second round knockout loss.
Villante next fought Perosh knocking out Perosh in the first round.
