The fight ended in a no-contest due to illegal elbows to the back of the head, rendered after the fight. The original result was Diego Gonzalez winning via a rear-naked choke submission.

The first round began and Gonzalez faked the glove touch and shot for the clinch and got a double to guard. Hardy worked the rubber guard. He turned towards a triangle. Gonzalez landed a big right and had the back with both hooks. He landed a right. He had the body triangle. Gonzalez worked towards the choke again. He landed a pair of big rights. Gonzalez landed a good right elbow and another. Another good right elbow. Four more right hands. A pair of right elbows. Another elbow. Gonzalez was very sweaty at this point. He nearly had that choke in. He landed a right and another and a right elbow to the back of the head there. He had that choke in this time. Hardy escaped. Diego lost the triangle and a single hook finally. He lost another hook. He had side back mount. Diego elbowed the back of the head. He was warned by the ref. Hardy turned on top to half-guard and defended a guillotine. He escaped to guard on top. Hardy's nose was bloody. Gonzalez worked rubber guard. The first round ended, Hardy helped Gonzalez up. The second round began. Gonzalez blocked a high kick partially, it did get through those. Gonzalez shot for a double. Hardy stuffed it, nope Gonzalez got it to half-guard. Hardy regained guard. Gonzalez had the back in another scramble with both hooks in. He had the body triangle and the choke and Hardy tapped. How is that a no-contest? He decisively defeated Hardy. Gonzalez came voer and hugged a smiling but disappointed Hardy. Gonzalez helped him upa nd hugged him again. Somehow, this became a no-contest. I looked it up. Apparently, Diego landed eleven illegal elbows to the back of Hardy's head and Hardy lost feeling in the right side of his face for a few months afterwards.
