The first round began. They circled around the ring. Baron missed a sort of spinning back fist. Baron came forward for the clinch and was looking for the takedown. Hardy tried to grab a guillotine but Baron slammed him down into half-guard dominantly. Hardy managed to put him back in guard after a few minutes. Baron landed some good hammerfists. They weren't doing terribly much, Baron landing body shots, etc, staying busy basically, good job. Baron stood finally and landed repeated leg kicks to Hardy. He came in and Hardy rolled away and they stood and exchanged in close before clinching. Hardy didn't seem to have much technique at this point in his career, I think he slapped Baron in that exchange. Baron got the takedown slowly into half-guard. Baron was looking like the much superior fighter. The first round ended.
The second round began. Hardy landed a good jab and a high kick to the shoulder. They clinched, Hardy landed a good knee and they broke. Baron landed a good leg kick. Hardy landed a body kick. Baron came for the takedown and got it, but Hardy was scrambling. Baron had Hardy's back now, looking to get the hooks in. He was a little high on it. Hardy's gonna shake him off. Yep Hardy shook him off, but Baron was looking for an armbar. Hardy escaped, however, into Baron's guard. Hardy landed some good shots. Baron looked for a triangle but Hardy pulled away and ate some upkicks. Baron rolled and Hardy had side back mount landing hammerfists. Hardy had Baron's back and he put his hooks in. Baron landed some shots backward, pounding Hardy's mohawk. He kept on doing it, obviously not scared of Hardy's rear-naked choke offense or lack thereof. Baron looked very relaxed. Hardy had that body triangle locked in, landing good shots in under. He was looking for that choke. Baron turned in to his guard. Baron landed some hammerfists. The second round ended and Baron reached down and helped Hardy up, good sportsmanship by both fighters. David Baron won a unanimous decision, and the fighters hugged and Hardy raised Baron's hand, Baron raised Hardy's hand. Hardy looked very disappointed, but gracious in defeat.
