Cole Escovedo

Cole Escovedo is the former WEC featherweight champion.

He most recently headed back up to featherweight to face Michihiro Omigawa in Dream, losing via submission due to a straight armbar. He next faced Stephen Siler, winning via triangle choke submission.

He next made his UFC debut replacing Demetrious Johnson against fellow newcomer Renan Barao. Barao defeated Escovedo via an exciting and close unanimous decision.

Cole next faced Takeya Mizugaki in what many viewed to be a loser-leaves-town matchup. Mizugaki defeated Escovedo via second round knockout. Escovedo next returned in a loser-leaves-town bout against TUF competitor and bantamweight newcomer Alex Caceres. Caceres defeated Escovedo via unanimous decision, likely sealing Cole's fate inside the UFC.

Escovedo eventually retired.

My Thoughts On ColeEdit

Solid mid-level guy. Never going to be a serious title contender, especially in the shark tank that is the UFC bantamweight division.
