The fight was for the WEC welterweight title with Carlos Condit the defending champion.
The Fight[]
The first round began and they touched gloves. Condit landed an inside leg kick. He missed a body kick and dodged a leg kick. Condit landed a front kick to the knee. Condit landed an inside leg kick. They clinched. Prater got a nice judo throw after eating a knee to the body into half-guard. Condit was looking for a kimura. Prater defended it. Four minutes with Prater tryng to pass. Condit avoided and retained guard. Three thirty. Condit wall-walked. Three twenty. Condit was rolling for an armbar, Prater shut it down before it even began. Three minutes. Prater landed a nice elbow. 'Stay busy, Carlo!' his corner yelled. Condit landed a few elbows from the bottom. Two thirty-five. Condit was looking for a guillotine, he had it locked up tight. Prater was fighting it with two twenty. It was tight as fuck. Two fifteen. He had it tight still, he let it go. Two minutes. One fifty. The crowd chanted 'Carlos'. One forty remained. Condit locked up a triangle. Prater was fighting it. He escaped. One twenty-five. Condit locked up that guillotine again and it was tight with one fifteen. Prater tapped with one twelve remaining and Condit retained the belt and avenged his earlier loss.
